O Desabafo

This man, who identifies himself as “Duca Democrático”, leader of the so-called Sao Paulo’s Popular Buzz Movement, uses very graphic language to describe his dissatisfaction with the current political situation in Brazil. The Lessa Blog has decided to publicize this video not only because it agrees with some of the essence (not necessarily with the tone) but also because it shows how radical and dangerous the situation is getting. Attention: very graphic language.

A Verdade Por Trás da Reforma da Previdência
The Truth Behind the Brazilian Welfare Reform

This congressman, a representative from Ceará state (Northeastern Brazil), explains that companies and banks owe almost 500 billion reais (170 billion dollars) to the Brazilian welfare/retirement system. None of the administrations, including the current one, have ever tried to make these companies pay. Now, the Temer administration has decided that the people are going to fill this huge hole, paying the bill. That is absolutely unacceptable, and the Lessa Blog agrees with him. Welfare/Retirement reform? Yes. This welfare/retirement reform? NO!

A Vigarista Francesinha

This video serves as a record of one more idiotic behavior displayed by former president Dilma Rousseff for the whole world to see. This time, she attempted to speak French in front of an incredulous Swiss audience (she can barely speak Brazilian Portuguese, her own language!). The stupidity of this woman knows no bounds!

Só a Marcela Sabe…
Only Marcela Knows…

Once again, Michel Temer’s mishaps have generated a funny reaction from the media. This time, based on his “macho-chauvinist” speech regarding the International Women’s Day, a Brasilia-based news site (Metropolis.com) has created an ad where the announcer (a male) does not know any sale prices, “but Marcela (Temer’s wife) knows”. In a very old-fashioned style, she announces the prices in cruzeiros, a currency not used in Brazil since the Sixties. If you understand Brazilian Portuguese and have been following Michel Temer’s latest adventures, you will have a ball with this one. 😉

O Sinal Mais Visível da Corrupção no Brasil
Brazil’s Most Visible Sign of Corruption

In this video, a Brazilian who lives in Florida shows how much he pays for licensing his Maseratti anually, something a little less than 100 dollars. In Brazil, the same car would require an annual extorsion by the un-government/un-administration of about 9 thousand 500 dollars. Viewers beware: he uses some rough language in Brazilian Portuguese — because he is understandably pretty mad about it.
