Carlos Marchi e o Desastre de Dilma no TCU
Carlos Marchi and Dilma’s disaster at TCU*

É, no mínimo, estagnação.

Dilma Rousseff’s defense in the TCU investigation about her fiscal crimes against public finances is a disaster.
It only goes to allege that “everyone does it”, repeating the basic excuse invented by Lula at the time of the “mensalao” (big monthly allowance paid to congressmen in exchange for votes).
To say that “everyone does it” does not exempt one from guilt. It does not fix Brazil. It is, to say the least, stagnation.
And, to say the most, it is absolute incompetence to manage a country, not to mention the obvious shamelessness.
*The TCU (Tribunal de Contas da União) is the Brazilian equivalent to the U.S. GAO (General Accounting Office).

Cenira Barradas e a Ignorância Alheia
Cenira Barradas and other people’s ignorance

Lula didn’t know about the “mensalao” (big monthly allowance).
Dilma didn’t know about the heavy corruption scheme going on in Petrobras.
(Former soccer player) Ronaldo didn’t know that the two girls he picked up and took to a motel were trannies.
Romario (former soccer player, now senator) didn’t know he had a Swiss bank account.
If I’m not mistaken, Romario also didn’t know that the girl he left a nightclub with, holding hands, was not exactly a girl, or… did he?

This week’s “Veja” magazine informs that contractor Leo Pinheiro has decided to tell federal prosecutors everything he knows about former president Lula’s participation in the “petrolao” (the huge scandal that has destroyed Petrobras) and to explain how Lulinha, the former president’s son, became a millionaire. According to Veja, “Mr. Pinheiro has said that if his plea bargain is accepted, he will present the authorities with a complete list of politicians who have received “petrolao” money via the OAS (his company). ‘After Leo talks, there will be no way to avoid arresting Lula. Either Lula is arrested, or the Car Wash investigation is demoralized’, said one of Mr. Pinheiro’s friends.
The Lessa Blog eagerly awaits the arrest, prosecution and conviction of this criminal who acted decisively to destroy Brazil socially, economically, financially, morally and ethically.

Maroni’s Promise

The guy in the video is Mr. Oscar Maroni. He owns the Bahamas Club, São Paulo’s most famous bordello. This is what he is saying:
“As soon as you see in the press that (former president) Lula has been arrested, come running to the Bahamas Club, because on that day, until midnight, all your drinks will be for free. It will be a celebration.”

PT x PT, or… criminal versus criminal

The story above, published by Folha de S.Paulo newspaper, indicates that former president Lula da Silva, a.k.a. Brahma, personally encouraged the TCU (federal accounting office) minister in charge of analyzing Dilma Rousseff’s numbers to go on the record against the so called “pedaladas fiscais” (a term used to describe the criminal scheme set up by Dilma’s team where the payments to be disbursed by the Treasury were being actually paid by official banks, like Banco do Brasil and Caixa Economica Federal, in express violation of the Fiscal Responsibility Act). Lula’s action occurred at the same time he started to openly criticize his protegé’s administration. The Folha de S.Paulo newspaper reports that Lula told TCU minister Jose Mucio Monteiro, a close ally, he thought it was reasonable that the TCU requested additional explanation regarding the fiscal maneuvers. As described above, public banks use their own resources to make payments for the administration, which is illegal. Tha Lula-Mucio talks occurred when the minister’s vote, criticizing the delay in transfers from the Treasury to the banks, was already written. According to some reports, Lula said that this “would give the president a scare”. Mucio’s vote concluded that the fiscal maneuvers by former Finance minister Guido Mantega’s team in 2013 and 2014 caused harm to the Fiscal Responsibility Act.
The Lessa Blog adds that the illegal maneuvers have continued unabated throughout 2015, challenging the Fiscal Responsibility Act. In the next weeks, it is expected that TCU formally decides against the maneuvers, opening the door for Rousseff’s impeachment proceedings in Congress.
