Sergio Garschagen e a Solidão de Dirceu…
Sergio Garschagen and Dirceu’s loneliness…

Nobody loves me, nobody wants me… Jose Dirceu feels resentment against the Workers Party leadership, especially Lula – with whom he has not talked since he was convicted in the “mensalao” (big monthly allowance scandal) trial. Dirceu comlains that the top party leaders won’t lend him any public support. As expected, the Workers Party National Executive Board meeting last Tuesday did not produce any defense of Dirceu. Since he started doing time, he stopped being a participant in the party’s discussion about its political future and was seldom visited by his “fellow party members”. In March of this year, his birthday lunch — an event always full of politicians from all the political spectrum, had little people and no big shot from the Workers Party. “Beware of bad company”, our moms taught us.

(Newspaper headline): José Dirceu is arrested
(Incoming voice): I am feeling very lonely!
(Lula da Silva): Who’s talking? Who’s talking?

THE WEEPING FOOL
News stories around Brazil tell us that the scoundrel, multi-criminal Jose Dirceu is said to be very dissatisfied with the fact he is being abandoned by his fellow gang members in this moment of difficulty, when he was about to and ended up being jailed. That reminded me of a conversation I had, several years ago, with a then-congresswoman, founder of the Workers Party, with her political influence extended over the Santos, Sao Paulo region. When she described the gang’s methods, she was very precise and rough to explain one thing: in that environment, anyone who fell was left behind. No one would turn back to try and save the fallen buddy. It is remembering the words of that former congresswoman that I try to understand so much weeping and gnashing of teeth. After all, this scoundrel — Jose Dirceu — lived all his life practicing this philosophy. Would he be finding the taste of this medicine too bitter, now?

A Lista das 10 Mais de José Dirceu na Cadeia…
José Dirceu’s Top Ten List…

O Blog do Lessa presta uma homenagem a David Letterman e apresenta as 10 Coisas que José Dirceu Pode Fazer na Cadeia diretamente do Teatro Ed Sulllivan, em Nova York… O texto é de @Paulo Francis_, no Tweeter.

The Lessa Blog pays a tribute to the greatest — David Letterman — by presenting avery special Top Ten List: 10 Things that José Dirceu Can Do in Jail, directly from the Ed Sullivan Theater, in New York. The list was compiled by Twitter’s @Paulo Francis_. And, yes… you’ve got to understand Brazilian Portuguese to understand this one. 😉

Não Custa Repetir…
It’s worth remembering…

dirceu_dilma

This talk of “shielding” Dilma to avoid the administration from being contaminated does not stick — at least, not anymore. Dilma, the Woman-Sapiens, had knowledge of the complete scheme since its inception, when she was the head of Mines and Energy Ministry, then president of Petrobras’ Board of Directors, then Lula’s Chief of Staff and later president herself. Even if she didn’t take money in the same proportion as everyone else involved, she is an accomplice, she is an accessory, she is an integral part and direct beneficiary of the scheme.

A Sacada de @RaulFranca1
@RaulFranca1’s take

“Let’s not set a target for José Dirceu’s time in prison. When we reach that target, we double the target.”
(This is a spoof on Dilma Rousseff’s stupid thought expressed in public a few days ago.)

Laerte Rímoli e a Prisão de Dirceu
Laerte Rimoli and Dirceu’s imprisonment

It’s strange, but José Dirceu’s second arrest has left me sadder than happier. It represents the end of a dream. Not the illusion sold to us by the Workers Party, a party made in Lula’s image and likeness; a party full of vices, rigging and theft that left us Dilma at the very end. However, it is somewhat nostalgic. There was this romantic feeling in the people who fought for an ideal, but when in power decided to bathe in the mud, in the easy money, in the bolivarianism. They decided to smoke cigars with liqueur. They went on to wear expensive flowery bermudas. They swapped girlfriends, all of them very young, as one changes clothes. It was power for the sake of power. Who knows… this guy could have a crisis of conscience and could decide to tell all the dark transactions schemed in the Planalto Palace with the gang leader. Tell everything, captain. Find it in your heart to help us clean up this country. This means revealing Luiz Inacio. Give an example to your grandchildren. Recapture those old ideals (or were they fake?). Have dignity, even at this late stage.

Não Muda Nada…
Nothing changes…

BIRDS OF A FEATHER
(Left): During an interview to Radio Jovem Pan, Sao Paulo Gov. Alckmin said that “the impeachment is a trauma for the country. We need to care for democracy.”
(Right): In 1999, while leading a movement to oust then recently elected president Fernando Henrique Cardoso, now convicted criminal José Dirceu said that “any congressman can request the start of an impeachment process against the president. To say that this is a coup is just a lack of what to say.”
The Lessa Blog shows each one of these individuals, in their own time, seeking to defend their own personal interests with complete disregard for the real needs of the Brazilian people. Tsk, tsk…

Sylvio Guedes e as Alegrias da Vida
Sylvio Guedes and the joys of life

A paragraph of today’s news:
“Dirceu is on house arrest for the remainder of the 7 years 11 months conviction by the Brazilian Supreme Court for corruption. He is also investigated for his supposed participation in the Petrobras corruption scheme.”
Ooooh, those are the little joys that help our life make sense…

José Dirceu — scoundrel, convicted “mensalão” mastermind & operative, former Lula da Silva’s Chief of Staff (Lula, a.k.a. Brahma, is the head of the criminal organization disguised as a political party that threw Brazil in an administrative/financial/economic black hole), is up to his head in the “petrolão” the scandal involving Petrobras’ assets theft. It is the widest, deepest scandal ever uncovered in Brazil, starting with the Federal Police’s “Car Wash” operation. Mr. Dirceu, currently under house arrest, had his third request for a “preventive” habeas corpus denied.

As Lágrimas de Crocodilo deste Blog
This blog’s crocodile tears

dirceu3

While profusely shedding crocodile tears, The Lessa Blog remembers that this old fart, a scoundrel, thief, kidnapper, enemy of the State, influence peddler, tax evader, shameless SOB (yes, scoundrels do get old, too!) did not report any kind of anxiety nor happened to have any health problems, including psychological, when he committed his crimes and pocketed great sums of money illegally.
(Picture subtitle): Dirceu sends message to Car Wash judge: “I can’t stand it anymore”
(Balloon): “Arrest me now, please! Arrest me! I can’t stand this anxiety anymore! I’d rather be in jail than living like this!”

Sergio Garschagen e os Abutres
Sergio Garschagen and the vultures

Vultures eat the nation’s liver! I barely start to read O Globo newspaper and find three brids of prey on the cover: 1) Former president Fernando Collor de Mello’s homes in Brasilia and Maceio are being searched by the Federal Police; 2) Former Petrobras director Paulo Roberto Costa confirms payment to Senate president Renan Calheiros and 3) The Federal Police tracks the money paid to former minister José Dirceu. How much uncontested evidence is necessary to put these scoundrels in jail?

riellaO CRIME DEMOCRATIZADO NO BRASIL
Desculpem a nossa falha!

DEMOCRATIZED CRIME IN BRAZIL
The live-in maid negotiated a salary of 1,300 reais (around 410 dollars) with a family. When she finally brought the “professional card” to have her employment registered in writing, she demanded the registered salary to be of only 788 reais (around 245 dollars). She said she wanted to get the rest of the money “out of the books”. She explained: “I get the “Bolsa Familia” (government’s “Family Allowance”). If I get a salary above the minumim salary currently established, I lose the benefit.”
There’s also that one from the secretary/telephone operator who took some three months being paid a salary of 1,500 reais (around 470 dollars) and just signing a receipt for it. When she decided to bring her “professional card” to have the employment registered in writing, she explained with no embarrassment: “During these last three months, I couldn’t have the card signed because I was collecting unemployment insurance from the other job I used to have.”
And there’s another one from José Dirceu. But I will have to hold on to this one, because he hasn’t confessed to any crime yet. Sorry!
